TRAINING DESCRIPTION :

OVERVIEW :

This training introduces concepts, metrics, and models in software quality assurance. The Training covers components of software quality assurance systems before, during, and after software development. It presents a framework for software quality assurance and discuss individual components in the framework such as planning, reviews, testing, configuration management, and so on. It also discusses metrics and models for software quality as a product, in process, and in maintenance. The course will include case studies and hands on experiences. During the training, participants will develop an understanding of software quality and approaches to assure software quality .

 

OBJECTIVES :

After successfully completing this training, the participants will :

1.       Know the most common root causes of software errors and software development scheduling problems

2.       Be able to identify what factors affect software quality and know how to measure those factors

3.       Be able to perform both white-box and black-box testing of software modules;

4.       Be able to create a suitable software test plan

5.       Be able to conduct effective review meetings

6.       Be familiar with industry standards related to software quality assurance plans

7.       Be able to select appropriate product metrics and process metrics

8.       Understand how to use data to conduct continuous process improvement

9.       Be able to create a comprehensive quality assurance plan appropriate to the participant’s professional work environment

10.   Be able to quantitatively assess the cost effectiveness of a SQA plan

11.   Understand the CMM model, with the ability to access what general level a company is operating at, and what steps need to taken to advance to the next ability level
